These are my main anxieties before we pedal forward into the unknown (in no particular order):
- Having an accident on the road where Raisin is injured
- Raisin getting stolen
- Raisin being attacked by another dog
- Wanting to come home at the first serious set back
- Getting hospitalised and separated from Raisin
- Getting attacked/hassled
- Not being able to find enough food and water (because won't leave Raisin outside shops)
- Not being able to find safe places to sleep
- Not being able to find enough play areas for Raisin
- Raisin getting too hot in the trailer
- Raisin getting spooked and not liking the trailer
- Having to ask for help
- Being able to accept help without feeling bad
- Trailer breaking/failing
- Tent catching fire
- Feeling lonely
- Being too shy/pathetic to talk to people
- Not enjoying it
- Getting depressed
- Giving up/wimping out
- Spending too much money
- That I won't be able to be keep to vegan diet
- Raisin being aggressive to other dogs/people
- Finding that my (unhelpful, negative) beliefs about my self, other people, the world and the future stay exactly the same
- Finding that pubs are the best places to warm up, rest, get food and water...and finding the temptation of lager too much to resist (after 2 1/4 years of sobriety)
Thats a lot of worries. Some out of your control, some you can. You can only address them as such. You won't know until you set off. They are worries that any sensible person would have before a long trip. Youve done the hardest part - making the decision to go on the trip. Once you get on the horse it will all come into focus. I wish I we're as motivated. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracie. I think you are right, I just need to get in with it. 8 days to go now and it will be too late to change my mind.
